If you’re a Michigan football fan, welcome to the article you’ve probably been dying to read since the rumors have started to swirl regarding Jim Harbaugh.

Unfortunately for you, I’ll also be writing up a “reasons Jim Harbaugh should leave for the NFL” piece to balance things out and kind of give pros and cons of both, but honestly, if I was him, I’d probably come back to Michigan next season.

Sure, there’s always that draw to head back to the NFL after tasting success the first time and nearly winning the Super Bowl, but Michigan has a lot going for it right now.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at my three reasons Harbaugh should remain with the Wolverines next season like he promised about a month ago.

3. Elite transfer portal class coming in

Jim Harbaugh has used the transfer portal before, but not quite in the same fashion that he has so far this cycle. The 2023 transfer class for Michigan is unreal so far.

In fact, the Wolverines are bringing in nothing but instant contributors via the portal and they fill needs on both sides of the ball.

The only transfer that probably won’t have much of an impact is Jack Tuttle from Indiana, but he adds quarterback depth and he was once an elite recruit out of high school. He would be a fantastic backup to JJ McCarthy if he were to get hurt.

AJ Barner is going to play extensively at tight end, Drake Nugent will push for time on the offensive line along with Myles Hinton and LaDarius Jefferson, Josiah Stewart is a perfect edge rushing addition, and Ernest Hausmann was one of the best players in the portal from Nebraska and will likely start at linebacker immediately.

Add in the No. 17 recruiting class on top of this and Harbaugh has a reloaded team coming back for 2023.
