Florida football has already signed top-100 QB Jaden Rashada in the 2023 class but there are now conflicting reports about him wanting out.

You don’t see it happen often, but recruits can ask out of their national letters of intent. Xavier Worthy did it with Michigan a couple of years ago and Jaden Rashada could be following that same path with the Florida football program.

That was a report from On3.com that said that Rasahada, who was supposed to be an early enrollee to the Florida football program but hasn’t married on campus yet, had asked the Gators to let him out of his letter of intent.

According to Pete Nakos of On3, who was quoting multiple sources, Jaden Rashada wanted out of his letter of intent due to some distrust with Florida over NIL, which has been front and center in his recruitment.

Rashada was previously committed to Miami and there were rumors of a massive NIL deal. He’s from the state of California and Oregon was the leader before the Hurricanes made a late push.

However, in November, Florida was able to flip Jaden Rashada. However, head coach Billy Napier delayed his signing day press conference according to Nakos because he was waiting for Rashada to send his letter of intent.

Jaden Rashada and his father dispute reports

Hayes Fawcett tweeted that soon after the news broke, Rashada sent him a DM on Twitter that questioned the news saying, “Where did y’all get this?”

Rashada’s father also disputed that his son wanted out of his NLI with Florida according to Swamp247. “Jaden has not filed a request for release from Florida,” Mr. Rashada said.

Yet, there is no disputing the fact that Rashada, ranked 56th overall in the 247 sports composite rankings for the 2023 class and as the No. 9 QB, is the only Gators early enrollee not on campus.

It’s been a wild recruitment from the start and things really haven’t stopped. There was the flip, the signing day rumors, and now this.

As Fawcett tweeted, “Only time will tell” and that seems to be the most appropriate sentiment when it comes to Jaden Rashada — only time will tell where he plays his college football.
