Did Mason Taylor already become a star in 2022? There’s an argument for that, but I’m going to say that not enough people know about the young tight end on a national level. That will surely change in 2023.

Another year in the offense and an even better relationship forged with Jayden Daniels at quarterback, Taylor is going to have a monster 2023 campaign.

As a freshman, he was third on the team in receiving with 38 catches for 414 yards and three touchdowns and he looked like the next big tight end to grace college football with his presence. With Michael Mayer leaving Notre Dame this offseason, the sport needs a new superstar tight end. That could very well be Taylor.

How fitting is it that Brian Kelly coached and recruited Mayer at Notre Dame and now he has another star tight end who could take over college football in Taylor?

It’s hard to believe this kid was just a three-star in the 2022 class.
