Anthony Grant is coming back for one final season at Nebraska which means the Cornhuskers have their starting running back solidified once again.

But he’s going to be pushed by second-year potential breakout star Ajay Allen.

While Grant nearly hit 1,000 yards last season, Allen earned some praise as the team’s RB2 and had 190 yards and two touchdowns in four games. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry and looked like the kind of back that the Cornhuskers needed.

The one-two punch of Grant and Allen next season is going to be one to behold, especially with Matt Rhule taking over.

The former three-star may not be splitting snaps cleanly down the middle, but he’s going to have much more than the 33 he had in 2022.

And he’ll take advantage of that increased role.
