NC State is an intriguing team to watch next season with Brennan Armstrong leading the offense after transferring from Virginia, so don’t sleep on the Wolfpack. I think this is one of those games that Notre Dame could easily slip up in despite being favored, but Sam Hartman has seen the NC State Wolfpack before and that’s going to help the Irish here.

Hartman just passed for 400 yards against the Wolfpack in a 2022 loss and beat them in 2021. He may have a 1-2 record against them in his career, but he usually plays well enough to give his team a chance to win. And unlike Wake Forest, Notre Dame has a defense to help out.

Prediction: Win (3-0)

Central Michigan did not have a good year under Jim McElwain in 2022 and while I think the Chippewas will be better than 4-8 in 2023, I don’t think they’ll give Notre Dame much of a fight. It might be close early in the game, but Notre Dame will assert its dominance.

Prediction: Win (4-0)
