Before spring ball, I had Ohio State winning this game in South Bend and handing Notre Dame its first loss of the season. As I said previously, however, my expectations for Notre Dame have updated and I now think that this Irish team can beat the Buckeyes at home.

CJ Stroud is gone and the Buckeyes will be breaking in a brand new starting quarterback and in a road atmosphere like Notre Dame Stadium, that could be a recipe for disaster.

Marvin Harrison Jr. will put on a show, but Sam Hartman will get the last laugh.

Prediction: Win (5-0)

I’ve gone back and forth with this game multiple times just because I think the job that Mike Elko has done in a short period of time deserves some serious recognition, but I just can’t pick against Hartman to go on the road and throw for like 350 yards against the Blue Devils.

Duke was one of the most improved teams in the nation last year and I think it’ll be solid once again with Riley Leonard back, but Notre Dame will be thinking national title after upsetting Ohio State.

This game will be closer than people think, however.

Prediction: Win (6-0)
