The Georgia Bulldogs joined an elite club with their second consecutive national championship at the beginning of the 2023 calendar year.

Now they will return looking to complete the rare three-peat and join an even more elite group of national champions across the collegiate level. It has only been done once, and it has been nearly a century since that has been accomplished.

As the Minnesota Golden Gophers picked up three consecutive national championships from 1934 to 1936.

However, they do play in the toughest conference in college football, and winning three consecutive games in the SEC can be tough enough let alone repeating as three-time national champions.

Head Coach Kirby Smart will be heading into his seventh season in Athens, and he has a career-winning percentage of .844 and an overall record of 81-15. They have won seven New Year’s Six Bowls under Smart and have made three national championship game appearances as well. The previous two have ended with the Georgia Bulldogs on top of the college football world.
