The college football schedule isn’t overly exciting with no top-25 games, but here are college football predictions for the top games of Week 3.

Week 3 of the college football season is already underway. Miami got a win on Thursday night and there will be more games on Friday night.

However, this week isn’t loaded with marquee matchups. There are some good games and plenty to keep college football fans entertained.

Yet, there aren’t any top-25 matchups in College Football Week 3. Georgia will face South Carolina, but Texas, Michigan, Ohio State, and Notre Dame all play Group of Five teams.

North Carolina will square off against Minnesota. You also have the Backyard Brawl this week and in terms of college football predictions, we pick the top five games for Week 3.

Tennessee (-6.5) at Florida (ESPN, 7 PM EST)

The first player most people think of when they think of Tennessee is Joe Milton, the big-armed quarterback who has four touchdown passes so far this season. Yet, the Vols have proven to be about more than just the quarterback so far this fall.

Tennessee is tied for the lead in college football in sacks with 11. The Vols also average 6.1 yards per rushing attempt, while limiting teams to 2.8.

Florida opened the year at Utah and dropped the game by double digits, despite 333 yards from Graham Mertz. Mertz has just one interception and has been more efficient than he was with the Wisconsin Badgers.

This is a big game for head coach Billy Napier, who can’t afford another primetime loss, but Tennessee is too good. The Vols have the advantage at quarterback and head coach, which usually means you win and with the way Tennessee is playing in the trenches, the Vols will win and cover the spread.
