Ranking college football’s top 10 quarterbacks after Week 4
2. Michael Penix, Washington
The Washington Huskies quarterback continues to put up video-game numbers after completing 76 percent of his passes against the Cal Bears in a 59-32 win. Penix threw four touchdowns and one interception but had 304 yards overall.
It was the lowest passing total of the season for Penix. It was also the fourth time he passed for at least three touchdowns. Arizona awaits this week and it could be a test for the Huskies, but Penix, who leads college football in passing yards and touchdowns, has been unstoppable, and I wouldn’t expect the Wildcats to slow him down much, if at all.
1. Caleb Williams, USC
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner hasn’t skipped a beat from last season and is second in the FBS in touchdown passes with 15. He also doesn’t have any interceptions.
The Trojans take on Colorado on Saturday, so Williams should have a field day. Williams is averaging 300 yards passing per game and has at least four touchdowns in each game this season (passing and rushing).
Williams will need to continue to shine as the schedule gets harder, but he’s showing zero sign of slowing down and could have a real shot at winning another Heisman.
