Arkansas football: 3 bold predictions for clash against No. 16 Ole Miss
No 2. Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart lights up the Arkansas defense
Junior quarterback Jaxson Dart is coming off an outstanding game against LSU, racking up five total touchdowns, 389 passing yards and 50 rushing yards. Dart has made an impressive leap this season, showing a ton of poise, limiting mistakes, and making big plays every game.
He’s set up to have another astounding game against a Razorback defense that’s giving up 339 yards of offense per game and 25 points per game on average. In last season’s matchup, the Utah native had a solid outing, dishing out 240 passing yards and scrambling for 44 more on the ground.
Opposing defenses have had a difficult time trying to contain dual threat quarterback, as Dart has already racked up 11 passing and 4 rushing touchdowns and two interceptions this season— way ahead of pace from last season’s 18 passing touchdowns, 0 rushing and eight interceptions.
With the recent woes from the Razorbacks, there’s little evidence they’ll be the ones to slow Dart and his momentum. Even if they do slow him down, the Rebels have a guy you might’ve heard of— Quinshon Judkins, the prolific running back who’s coming off a 1,567-yard rushing season to go along with 16 touchdowns.
Razorback fans are likely to endure a lot of head shaking and grumbling at the behest of the Ole Miss backfield. Dart has too much skill, too many weapons and is steadfastly cementing himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC.
