Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis (13) passes to his teammate. The Florida State Seminoles defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies 39-17 at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023. /

No. 16 Duke at No. 4 Florida State (-14.5) 7:30 PM EST ABC

The status of quarterback Riley Leonard is still up in the air for Saturday night’s game. Duke head coach Mike Elko said that Leonard is day-to-day this week.

We’ll see what happens with Leonard but that would improve Duke’s chances of winning, especially on the road. Henry Belin IV did lead Duke to a win over North Carolina State but doing the same on the road against Florida State, a national title contender is a big ask.

Duke has been elite on defense this season and allows just 9.8 points per game. The Blue Devils nearly beat Notre Dame too, although that was at home.

Jordan Travis has been one of the best college football quarterbacks this season. He was elite against LSU and came up clutch in the Noles’ win over Clemson.  Trey Benson is averaging 7.1 yards per attempt on the ground and the Noles also have a stellar defense in their own right led by Jared Verse who has 4.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss.

Give me Florida State in this one.

Score: Florida State 31, Duke 10
