We update the Big 12 Football Power Rankings every week. This week saw the return of the top two teams in the Big 12 but they weren’t very pretty wins.

We have officially made it to the halfway point in Big 12 football! There was quite a bit of movement this week after a somewhat quiet week 7. Last week I wrote about the exciting finishes to games and this week had some similar endings! Week 8 had some close games that were exciting to watch, as well as a few games where the underdog came out on top at the end.

A few games came down to the wire, with Oklahoma pulling out the win against UCF by two points, and Baylor winning against Cincinnati by three.

We saw the return of Texas, but they unfortunately lost their starting quarterback in Quinn Ewers. Ewers is expected to miss a few weeks with an AC joint sprain, and backup quarterback, Maalik Murphy, will be the starter during that time.

The Big 12 is still wide open, so let’s get onto the Big 12 Football Power Rankings after week 8!

14. Cincinnati (2-5, 0-4 conference)

Cincinnati had the chance on Saturday to try to make a game of it against Baylor, but unfortunately, the Bearcats have not found their footing among the Big 12. They did however find their running game with a duo of running backs, rushing for a total of 288 yards on the day. Cincinnati doesn’t look to improve their odds in the coming week, facing Oklahoma State in Stillwater for a night game.
