2. Jamey Chadwell, Liberty head coach

I’ve seen this name being floated around in terms of Arkansas’ potential vacant position because he’s having a ton of success at Liberty after putting Coastal Carolina on the map.

Chadwell has been climbing in the coaching ranks for the past decade-plus actually, starting in Division II at North Greenville where he finished his final season there at 11-3 before taking a pitstop at Delta State before getting hired at Charleston Southern. He went 35-14 at Charleston Southern from 2013-16 with two 10-win seasons during his tenure.

And then Coastal Carolina hired him in 2017 where he went just 3-9 in his first year as an interim head coach and then 5-7 as full-time head coach. Following those two years, he went 31-6 over the next three seasons. He quickly became a popular name in coaching searches.

Chadwell left Coastal Carolina for Liberty and he’s led the Flames to a 10-0 start to the 2023 season and they’re a legitimate Top 25 program right now because of him.

Arkansas would love to have Chadwell.
