Chad Morris. 1. player. 844. . .

Chad Morris absolutely ran away with the No. 1 spot on this list as the worst head coaching hire in program history. There is no question about it. He was a longtime high school coach who got his first college head coaching gig at SMU in 2014. Morris improved that program, but tore down Arkansas in two years.

In Bret Bielema’s last year, 2017, Arkansas went 4-8, so it was time for a change, the administration just clearly chose the wrong guy. Morris signed a six-year $21 million contract and didn’t even finish year two. He just wasn’t built for the SEC at all.

Morris led the Razorbacks to a 2-8 record in his first season and followed that up by winning just two games in 10 tries in 2019 before being fired and replaced by Barry Lunney on an interim basis. Lunney went 0-2, so for those two seasons, Arkansas went 4-20 and Morris went 4-18.
