The NFL season has finally arrived as the games kick off on Wednesday with a rematch of the Super Bowl. This offseason, plenty of teams made all-in moves, as everyone tries to chase down the Rams, who enter the season as the Super Bowl favorites after adding Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, and Aaron Donald.
While plenty of teams are chasing the Super Bowl, others are already eyeing the 2027 NFL Draft. This class has been hyped up for two years, and as quarterbacks like Darian Mensah continue to post stellar performances, and position players like Jeremiah Smith continue to dominate, it's a great year to pick at the top of the draft.
Final mock draft before the NFL season kicks off
1. Arizona Cardinals: Darian Mensah - Quarterback - Miami
The Arizona Cardinals have one of the worst quarterback situations in the league after cutting Kyler Murray, and if Jacoby Brissett leads them to the 1st overall pick, they'll likely land his replacement. Over the past two years, Darian Mensah has flown under the radar, but at Miami he's going to show that he's the most complete QB in the Country.
2. Miami Dolphins: Jeremiah Smith - Wide Receiver - Ohio State
After the season, the Miami Dolphins are going to have to decide if Malik Willis is worth building around or if they should draft a potential franchise QB. When you look at the Dolphins' roster, the wide receiver room has a severe lack of talent after parting ways with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. Jeremiah Smith is a true generational talent, and it's worth giving Willis another season to bring the local product home.
3. New York Jets: Arch Manning - Quarterback - Texas
The New York Jets traded away Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams at the deadline last season to stockpile picks in this loaded draft class. Geno Smith is back to give the offense a stable veteran, and while there's optimism with Cade Klubnik, the Jets will look to find a franchise QB. Arch Manning would be dropped into an excellent situation with a solid offensive line and weapons in Garrett Wilson, Omar Cooper Jr, and Kenyon Sadiq.
4. Cleveland Browns: Dante Moore - Quarterback - Oregon
The Browns are somehow rostering 4 quarterbacks without a solid option, as Deshaun Watson will be the starter in Week 1. Unless one of the younger options flashes at some point this season, the Browns will likely look for a quarterback to build around. Dante Moore came back to Oregon to continue developing, and in Week 1 he showed progress, helping Oregon survive Boise State.
5. Tennessee Titans: Colin Simmons - Edge Rusher - Texas
Robert Saleh took over in Tennessee, and the Titans spent big looking to build a winner while Cam Ward is on his rookie deal. After passing on pass rushers to take a weapon in Carnell Tate, the Titans should look to add a star edge rusher as that's when Robert Saleh's defenses are at their best. Colin Simmons racked up 21 sacks over his first two seasons at Texas
6. Atlanta Falcons: CJ Carr - Quarterback - Notre Dame
The Falcons are heading into a season with Tua Tagovailoa as their starter because of Michael Penix's injury history, and Kevin Stefanski learned in Cleveland that bad quarterbacks can cost you your job. CJ Carr brings a skill set that translates to the NFL, and if he continues to ascend, he'll become a top 10 pick.
7. Las Vegas Raiders: Cam Coleman - Wide Receiver - Texas
The Raiders enter a new era after taking Fernando Mendoza 1st overall, even if Kirk Cousins will start at the beginning of the season. The top priority now is building around Mendoza, and after landing him solid offensive linemen, an elite wide receiver would make a massive difference. Cam Coleman spent two seasons at Auburn flashing his elite ability, and now he's finally playing with a competent quarterback at Texas, where he should emerge as a superstar.
8. New Orleans Saints: Dylan Stewart - Edge Rusher - South Carolina
Over the past few drafts, the Saints have solidified their offense by drafting a franchise QB, a bookend offensive tackle, and an elite receiver in Chris Olave. The Saints now should look to start building their defense, and as Cam Jordan continues to age, the unit needs a young pass rusher. Dylan Stewart is an alien at the edge rusher position, but he does come with some injury concerns that may make him slip outside the top 5.
9. Carolina Panthers: Leonard Moore - Cornerback - Notre Dame
Bryce Young's breakout last season was massive for the Panthers as they may not need to find a new quarterback. The Panthers have a ton of solid offensive weapons in place, and bolstering the defense would make Carolina the team to beat in the NFC South. The Panthers already have an elite cornerback in Jayce Horn, and pairing him with Leonard Moore would make it impossible to get open against Carolina.
10. Pittsburgh Steelers: Julian Sayin - Quarterback - Ohio State
Aaron Rodgers is back for another season, but the Steelers will have to get a contingency plan in place. Will Howard or Drew Allar may emerge as that option behind the scenes, but if not, the Steelers need to hit on a quarterback in the draft with all the veteran talent they have. Julian Sayin may not have the biggest arm, but he's an efficient passer who can step right into an NFL offense.
11. Washington Commanders: Jordan Seaton - Offensive Tackle - LSU
The only priority for the Washington Commanders is protecting Jayden Daniels who missed most of last season with injuries. Laremy Tunsil will miss most of, it not the entire, season, and as he continues to age, the Commanders may want to reset at offensive tackle. Jordan Seaton is the best pass protector in this draft, and he'd be a great addition to Daniels' blindside.
12. New York Giants: David Stone - Defensive Tackle - Oklahoma
John Harbaugh arrives in New York, and if you look at the Giants roster, there are blue-chip players all over on both sides of the ball. The biggest weakness for the Giants is defensive tackle after trading away Dexter Lawrence this offseason. David Stone plays with a ton of power, and he'd help the Giants solidify a unit that was the worst against the run last season.
13. Minnesota Vikings: Trinidad Chambliss - Quarterback - Ole Miss
The Vikings basically admitted they missed out on JJ McCarthy by announcing that Kyler Murray will be their starting quarterback this season. It's hard to tell if Murray will work out for the Vikings, but Kevin O'Connell may look for a new quarterback to develop. Trinidad Chambliss is an older prospect, but he may be the most talented prospect at QB in this class.
14. New York Jets: A'Mauri Washington - Defensive Tackle - Oregon
The Jets have additional picks in the draft because of the decision to trade away Quinnen Williams, and if Aaron Glenn survives the season, he may look to replace his presence. A'Mauri Washington is elite against the run, and if he develops his pass rush ability after coming back for another season, he'll have a chance to be a top 15 pick.
15. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Goosby - Offensive Tackle - Texas
The Jaguars are flipping Anton Harrison over to Left Tackle, and if he struggles at all this season, the team may look to move one of their tackles inside. Trevor Goosby can play either tackle position, and he'd bring positional versatility to the room to help protect Trevor Lawrence.
16. New York Jets: KJ Bolden - Safety - Georgia
Aaron Glenn's defense was at its best in Detroit when Brian Branch was playing safety at an elite level. The Jets traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick to solidify the position, but they'll eventually need to get younger at safety. KJ Bolden was elite in coverage last season with a low missed tackle rate, as he could be an instant difference maker in any defense.
17. Dallas Cowboys: Ellis Robinson IV - Cornerback - Georgia
Jerry Jones has a team he appears to be very confident in this season, after the Cowboys' defense was a mess last season. Trevon Diggs fell off a cliff, coverage-wise, leading to his release and creating a need at cornerback. Ellis Robinson IV was the top recruit coming out of High School, and last season he showed that talent level, giving him a chance to fly up the boards with a solid Junior season.
18. Cincinnati Bengals: Brauntae Johnson - Safety - Notre Dame
Trading for Dexter Lawrence was an all-in move for the Bengals to try and fix this defense, which has let down Joe Burrow year over year. While the defensive front may be better, the secondary still needs a ton of work. Brauntae Johnson had a breakout year after redshirting as a freshman, bringing a ton of versatility, and if he continues to be elite in coverage, he could be the first safety off the board.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Justin Scott - Defensive Tackle - Miami
The Buccaneers were at a standstill with Vita Vea before extending him by 1-year worth $30 million. While Vea is back, the Buccaneers should look to bolster the front around him, especially if Todd Bowles gets fired and the new regime wants to move on. Justin Scott will be able to play in almost any defensive scheme with great ability against the run, while he could eventually blossom as a pass rusher with his explosiveness.
20. Chicago Bears: Yhonzae Pierre - Edge Rusher - Alabama
Ben Johnson's first season in Chicago was a massive success, and now the Bears will look to capitalize on the window where Caleb Williams is still on his rookie deal. The secondary is banged up to start the season, but long-term it has the pieces to be a good unit. The Bears need a solid edge rusher opposite Montez Sweat, and Yhonzae Pierre has the explosiveness to be a high-impact player in the right defense.
21. New England Patriots: Jamari Johnson - Tight End - Oregon
The Patriots added a ton of talent at wide receiver to help Drake Maye after his breakout season, trading for AJ Brown and signing Romeo Doubs. At tight end, Hunter Henry is getting older, and adding a younger player at the position on Drake Maye's timeline would be smart. Jamari Johnson brings the ability to play in-line or be spread out wide, and he could be a weapon like Josh McDaniels has succeeded with in two-TE looks in the past.
22. Denver Broncos: Will Echols - Defensive Tackle - Ole Miss
Denver nearly made the Super Bowl if not for Bo Nix's injury, thanks to having the league's best defense. One of the few areas the Broncos should address is at nose tackle as elite run stuffers would make this unit unstoppable. Will Echols can line up all over the interior, and he'd allow the Broncos to throw plenty ot looks at opposing offenses.
23. San Francisco 49ers: Quincy Rhodes Jr - Edge Rusher - Arkansas
Injuries to Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams have kept the 49ers' defense from being one of the best units in the league. If Bosa deals with injury again this season, the 49ers are going to need to continue adding more pass rushers. Quincy Rhodes Jr emerged as a star for Arkansas last season with 8 sacks, and another impressive season would make him a 1st round pick.
24. Los Angeles Chargers: Charlie Becker - Wide Receiver - Indiana
The Chargers went out and hired Mike McDaniel as their offensive coordinator to help Justin Herbert reach his full potential. The biggest need for the Chargers is a star wide receiver who can help take pressure off Herbert in the passing game. Charlie Becker can bring a massive frame to the Chargers' receiving room, and a consistent ability to win on 50/50 balls.
25. Detroit Lions: Kelley Jones - Cornerback - Mississippi State
Some of the Detroit Lions' recent draft picks in the secondary haven't panned out, and after having to cut Terrion Arnold, Dan Campbell will be looking for defensive back help. Kelley Jones brings great coverage mobility and outstanding reach, and if he puts together a complete season, he could end up being a top 20 pick.
26. Houston Texans: Jadan Baugh - Running Back - Florida
CJ Stroud has struggled to meet the promise he flashed as a rookie, and it could be wasting elite years by the Texans' defense. The defense is good enough that Stroud doesn't need to be Superman, and giving him an elite running back could only help. Jadan Baugh is the best running back in the Country, and he'd help take a ton of pressure off Stroud and the passing game.
27. Kansas City Chiefs: Omarion Miller - Wide Receiver - Arizona State
Patrick Mahomes is coming off a torn ACL this season, and the Chiefs wisely went out and added a bell cow back in Kenneth Walker to take pressure off him. The issue for the Chiefs has been that Travis Kelce is getting older, and the wide receiving core hasn't been stable. Omarion Miller brings a great frame and elite explosiveness, and he could help bring stability to the passing attack.
28. Seattle Seahawks: Austin Siereveld - Guard - Ohio State
The Seahawks enter the 2026-27 season looking to defend their title after a Super Bowl run few saw coming. The defense is loaded with talent, and after drafting Jadarian Price, the team will look to continue running the ball at a high rate. Grey Zabel can play guard or center, and adding Austin Siereveld, who has guard/tackle versatility, will only help the unit.
29. Philadelphia Eagles: Carter Smith - Offensive Tackle - Indiana
The Eagles have had one of the best offensive lines in the NFL for a decade, but as Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata age, the team will need to get a succession plan in place. Carter Smith lacks some of the length NFL teams look for in a tackle, but he also has a frame that could allow him to kick inside to guard.
30. Baltimore Ravens: Trey'Dez Green - Tight End - LSU
John Harbaugh's departure for New York dealt some blows to the Ravens' roster as he brought plenty of players with him. As Mark Andrews continues to get older and Isaiah Likely left for the Giants, the Ravens may look to find a complementary piece to Andrews. Trey'Dez Green is a matchup nightmare as a receiver, and he's already shown flashes of improvement as a blocker to help complete his game.
31. Buffalo Bills: Clev Lubin - Edge Rusher - Louisville
The Bills have rolled the dice with several veteran edge rushers over recent seasons, but the team eventually has to try to find a long-term fix. After bursting onto the FBS scene with Coastal Carolina, Clev Lubin transferred to Louisville, where he racked up 8.5 sacks last season. Lubin is already off to a productive start this season, with a forced fumble on Trinidad Chambliss.
32. Cleveland Browns: Jordan Ross - Edge Rusher - LSU
After trading away Myles Garrett this offseason, the Browns may find themselves in the market for an edge rusher next offseason. Jordan Ross started his career at Tennessee, but in just one game at LSU, Ross instantly looked like an improved player with a sack, a pick six, and two pressures. If Ross continues to show he can produce at a high level off the edge, he's going to fly up draft boards.
