LSU Tigers fans have been waiting all offseason for the official start of the Lane Kiffin era, and it looks like they're going to need to wait a little longer than expected. There's nothing quite like playing under the lights of Tiger Stadium, and Baton Rouge may be fully dark before the game kicks off. The LSU fans will have a little longer to enjoy their taligates.
As of 5:45 PM central time, the expected 6:49 PM kickoff time won't happen as the game has entered a weather delay before it even started.
When will the Clemson Vs LSU weather delay end?
The bad news for the LSU and Clemson fans is that the weather delay started before the game even began, meaning there's no set starting time. There was a nasty lightning strike outside of Tiger Stadium, and lightning typically carries a 30 minute delay. While the NCAA has the rules for a reason, the LSU fans were unphased as they remained in their seats waving towels.

Given that most of the fans in attendance were up early in the blazing Baton Rouge heat for College GameDay, this is going to be a long game as the fans wait out the delay. It's worth noting that during College GameDay, lightning was reported in the area, forcing the crew to head inside for an extended period of the show.
LSU enters this matchup as the 11th ranked team in the Country after an offseason filled with changes, starting with the decision to hire Lane Kiffin. Clemson is looking to rebound after a shaky season, just like LSU, as Dabo Swinney is starting to get pressure to get the Tigers back to the top of the sport.
Update: 6:59 PM CT
The PA Announcer announced that the weather delay has ended and the teams are taking the field for warm-ups. The game is now expected to begin at 8:40 PM CT.
Update: 6:33 PM CT
Per ESPN the LSU vs Clemson game remains in weather delay and won't begin until 8:00 PM CT at the earliest.
