ESPN's College GameDay returned on Saturday Morning, in what always feels like the kickoff to the college football season. The show has undergone a ton of changes over the past few seasons, with the cast changing and new segments being brought to the show. The arrival of Pat McAfee to the cast as a full-time member has been the biggest change, while growing the reach of the show.

Pat McAfee's kicking contest has become must watch TV each weekend as he picks one member out of the crowd, having them attempt a 33-yard field goal with a chance to win life-changing money. On Saturday Morning, Pat McAfee set the season off with a $1 million prize.

Did the student win Pat McAfee's Kicking Contest on Saturday?

On the first episode of College GameDay for the season, and the 500th show ever, Pat McAfee upped the ante, offering $1 million to the student who had the chance to take the kick. The random drawing selected Bruce, a construction management student at LSU from Louisiana, who had a chance to win life-changing money.

On Bruce's first attempt, he kicked the ball in between the uprights but came up short with a bizarre kick that flew opposite any field goal attempt you've ever seen.

The second attempt went just like the first as Bruce was accurate enough to make the field goal, but clearly didn't have a big enough leg to send all of the fans in attendance into a frenzy.

Through 1 week of College GameDay, Pat McAfee's wallet is still intact, but given the way the show has gone each season, he's certainly going to have to pay up at some point. College GameDay will be back in the SEC next weekend as the show heads to Austin, Texas for the major showdown between Texas and Ohio State.
