The Mike Elko era has gotten off to an incredible start, and the sky looks to be the limit for the new era of Texas A&M football. After two seasons, Texas A&M has already reached the College Football Playoff, and the success should only continue with the way that Mike Elko has recruited. Everyone knew that Texas A&M was a sleeping giant in this NIL era, and Elko has been able to tap into the resources in a way that Jimbo Fisher never could.

Heading into the Fall, Mike Elko and Texas A&M hold the Nation's top ranked 2027 recruiting class with a staggering 5 5-star commits and 14 4-star recruits. The good news for Texas A&M fans is that the incredible run is showing no signs of slowing down as Mike Elko and the staff are already off to a great start in the 2028 cycle.

Texas A&M lands elite 2028 QB recruit Donald Tabron II

On Saturday Afternoon, Mike Elko and his staff made a major splash in the 2028 recruiting cycle, reeling in a commitment from elite quarterback recruit Donald Tabron II. The Aggies were tasked with beating out two tough competitors in any recruitment with LSU and Oregon, but securing the early win will create a ton of momentum.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Donald Tabron II is the 28th ranked player in the Country, the 3rd ranked quarterback in the class, and the 2nd ranked player out of Michigan. Tabron II marks Texas A&M's second commitment in the 2028 class, joining top 300 recruit Chance Archangel out of Louisiana.

Landing a quarterback early in any cycle is important, and with Tabron II on board, Texas A&M's recruiting efforts could take off. Mike Elko has shown that the Aggies can recruit at an elite level in this era, and with the recruits Texas A&M has built momentum with early, this could end up being another elite class.
