Florida State Seminoles

The Seminoles have been in the quarterback transfer portal market. They showed interest in Cameron Ward and will need a replacement for Jordan Travis.

Tate Rodemaker, who has filled in admirably for Travis, is still on the roster, but if Florida State had confidence in Rodemaker, it wouldn't be pushing for Cameron Ward and others -- they have also been connected to Dante Moore.

Dante Moore visited Oregon this past weekend. The Ducks seem to be a in good position for Moore. So it's easy to see Florida State football pivoting to Malachi Nelson.

Nelson could be the long-term starter for a program with tons of talent and even more coming in the 2024 recruiting class. It seems like an ideal marriage to me.

Miami Hurricanes

Miami desperately needs to upgrade at quarterback. Tyler Van Dyke went to Wisconsin and the Hurricanes probably didn't want him back anyway.

Cameron Ward visited Miami last week and the Hurricanes but he's also visited Florida State. The team that doesn't get Ward should target Malachi Nelson. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback has drawn comparisons to Jordan Love and is the kind of multi-year starter Miami needs.
