College Football is going through one of the weirdest offseasons in the history of the sport, with major developments taking place just days away from the start of the season. The NCAA's decision to change the eligibility rules late in the summer has led to countless lawsuits across several states as players who started playing in the 2022-23 season have been granted a chance to continue playing.
The players pushing for a return have extended to players who were trying to make an NFL roster. After trying to launch a career in the NFL as a wide receiver at the Titans' minicamp, Thomas Castellanos filed a suit looking to be granted an additional season of eligibility.
Thomas Castellanos will return to college football with Texas Tech emerging

Now that Thomas Castellanos is returning to college football, he's officially in the Transfer Portal, allowing him to find his next team. While a team wasn't clear early, a clear contender has emerged for the former Florida State starter, as Texas Tech has shown interest.

Texas Tech showing interest makes a ton of sense given the way that their offseason has unfolded after making the College Football Playoff. The Red Raiders added Brendan Sorsby via the Transfer Portal, but his gambling scandal cost Texas Tech a chance to have one of the best quarterbacks in the Country.
Once Texas Tech lost Brendan Sorsby, the plan appeared to be counting on Will Hammond to lead the offense. The concern is that Will Hammond is coming off a torn ACL, so adding insurance in Castellanos certainly wouldn't hurt. Given that Castellanos played wide receiver in NFL Camp, he could also help out the receiving core.
After finding early success at Boston College, Thomas Castellanos transferred to Florida State for last season. Castellanos had an up and down year, passing for 2,760 yards with 15 touchdowns and 9 interceptions while rushing for 557 yards and 9 touchdowns.
