Beamer Ball is Back: Virginia Tech Shoots Up Saturday Blitz Week 2 ACC Power Rankings
Saturday Blitz Week 2 ACC Power Rankings
The ACC is relevant. Get used to it. With the defending national champions getting back on a roll, North Carolina and Duke making noise, Pittsburgh on the rise, Louisville a top 25 team, Miami still talented, Clemson proving it’s still good, and Virginia Tech back in the thick of college football powers, this conference is much deeper than it’s been given credit for.
The Hokies upsetting Ohio State Saturday night was a great moment for the conference, proving that it belongs not just with the Power Five but might be one of the best Power Five conferences. It has rearranged the social order of the college football world, with multiple teams in this conference alone thinking about the college football playoff.

Who saw that coming at the beginning of the season? Heck, who saw that coming last week after the clear-cut best team in the conference, Florida State, struggle to put away Oklahoma State, a middle-of-the-pack Big 12 team? That same weekend Georgia dismantled Clemson.
But the conference regrouped over the weekend and proved it is a very solid conference top to bottom. There is no way that anybody can debate that fact. With multiple teams thinking national championship and nearly everybody expecting a bowl game, the ACC is now exciting to watch.
And it has made separating the good teams hard, but we have done it. So here are the Week 2 ACC Power Rankings.
