A Shake-Up at the Top of Week 7 Big 12 Power Rankings
The Big 12 is probably the easiest conference to separate teams right now. There’s the college football playoff contender (not plural right now), the four other Big 12 teams trying to fight their way back into the playoff talk and still in conversation for a Big 12 championship, the bridge from the elites to the bad teams, and then the bad teams. The tiers are clear. Separating them within the tiers, though, is still difficult.
The four teams behind the top team could be distinguished in any way. The same could be said about the four bottom teams. Right now, all that’s 100 percent clear is who’s No. 1 and who’s No. 6, as odd as that sounds.

But after the Big 12 brought us another exciting week of football, we think we have a pretty good idea of where to put everybody. Like the rest of the conferences, these rankings are based on quality wins, record, schedule strength, head to head, and to a degree style points.
Those factors have allowed us to distinguish among four 1-loss teams and four 4-loss teams. And there is one undefeated team left, along with a 2-loss team.
So here are our Big 12 Power Rankings for Week 7 of the college football season.
