Report: Everett Golson to visit Georgia and South Carolina
Everett Golson already has two visits lined up as he tries to figure out where he will play next year after deciding to transfer from Notre Dame.
He is the most sought after free agent in college football now after Everett Golson announced his plans to leave Notre Dame and play his final year of college football elsewhere. One day later, Golson has plans to visit two schools atop his desired list of transfer destinations in South Carolina and Georgia, according to 247Sports.

According to the report, Golson, a Myrtle Beach, S.C. native, will be at South Carolina on Monday and will be at Georgia the following day.
This would seem to corroborate an earlier report that Georgia and South Carolina are the two favorites to land the two-year starter at Notre Dame.
Both South Carolina and Georgia lost their starting quarterbacks from last year and the options they have on the roster have a dearth of in-game experience so they would welcome an experienced veteran like Golson with open arms.
However, it’s not as easy as a school and player both wanting each other. SEC bylaw 14.1.15.1, part d could make things tricky for Golson to transfer to Georgia, South Carolina or any other SEC program because he missed the 2013 season due to “poor academic judgment” and he would need a waiver from retiring SEC commissioner Mike Slive to allow him to transfer into the SEC.
It doesn’t mean can’t transfer to Georgia or South Carolina, rather there will be more red tape than usual. However, he will be eligible to play immediately for Georgia, South Carolina or any other school he picks because he is a graduate transfer.
