Arizona State revealed the uniforms they will be wearing in their opener against Texas A&M.

Another day means another uniform has been revealed. On Thursday, the Arizona State Sun Devils unveiled alternate “Desert Ice” uniforms on Thursday just in time for their opener on September 5 against Texas A&M, a neutral-site game in Houston. The program made this announcement via Twitter earlier in the afternoon.

Boasting a metallic copper-colored pitchfork on the pants and helmet, the colors really pop out to the eye and show up well against the white base of the uniform. Sometimes with alternate uniforms, they seem too overdone and it is hard to take them and at times, the program at face value. They take away from the image of the team and almost distract you in a way. With these uniforms, they add flash and flair while also staying true to the brand.

This is in an indirect way a continuation of what has turned into a new-look program. With the impressive work they have done on the recruiting trail as well as what has been a successful couple of years for the program, things seem to be taking shape. After capturing a 36-31 win over Duke in the Sun Bowl and finishing the season with a 10-3 record, things seem to be falling into place for the program.

The Sun Devils hope that these new uniforms will help them secure their first-ever series win against the Aggies. The two teams have never met before and it should be an exciting affair for both parties.

As the old adage goes, “If you look good, you play good.” Arizona State hopes that adage rings true as they look to secure a win in the Lone Star State.
