Kansas loses in most humiliating way possible after fumbled spike (Video)

Kansas has lost a number of football games but they may have suffered their most embarrassing loss on Saturday.

First-year head coach David Beaty has his hands full with the Kansas Jayhawks who were only favored in one game this preseason, and that game was against South Dakota St. who just beat them 41-38 on Saturday.

It’s not that the loss is altogether surprising. After all, Kansas is really, really bad and may go winless this year, but it was the fashion in which they lost that was so surprising…and embarrassing.

With the clock ticking down to zero to end the game, Kansas was driving to set up for a game-tying field goal or a shot at the end zone on a Hail Mary, but one thing happened along the way.

Kansas fumbled the snap while trying to spike the ball to stop the clock.

I suppose if there is a bright side it would be that Kansas fought their way back after trailing 31-14 at halftime. So would it have been better to suffer one of the more lopsided losses a FBS team has suffered at the hands of a FCS team or to lose by three in this manner?

There isn’t a bright side to this for Kansas and when you consider they’re still paying Charlie Weis for the mess he created makes matters even worse.
