Week three of the 2015 Pac-12 season is quickly approaching, with this group of games not featuring a marquee national match-up but still having a some interesting matchups.

Week two saw the biggest game of the year for the conference in Oregon going to East Lansing to play Michigan State. The Ducks faltered, and we learned a bit about Oregon’s chances of repeating as Pac-12 champion.

We also saw the new look Oregon State Beavers travel to the Big House to play Michigan, where they were promptly stomped 35-7. The double defeat of the Oregon schools might prove the state of Michigan’s football superiority, but the conference as a whole did well in the second week of games.

Washington State rebounded from a dispiriting loss to FCS Portland State by travelling to New Jersey and knocking off the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in an exciting competition. The Cal Golden Bears walloped San Diego State, with their defense holding the Aztecs to just seven points. USC and UCLA pounded Idaho and UNLV, respectively, staking their claim as the class of the Pac-12 South.

Arizona defied my prediction of an upset loss to the Nevada Wolfpack by winning easily, 42-20, and the Utah Utes continue to just win despite struggling on offense. The conference pecking order is starting to materialize as we get to know each team a bit better, although there are still some question marks. Some of those questions will be answered this week, and so… Without further preamble let’s get to the week two slate.
