Texas LB plays dead vs. Cal to stop clock (Video)
Texas hasn’t played very well this year and it turns out they can’t even play dead.
Texas linebacker Edwin Freeman played dead in the game vs. Cal so the officials would stop the clock and the acting was so bad, not quite Keanu Reeves bad, but this is not good for college football.

With Jared Goff and the California Golden Bears on the precipice of the goal line against the Longhorns and Freeman caught in between whether he should head off the field to the sideline or stay in on defense decided the best move was to act like an opossum and play dead.
Literally, because the dude just laid there on the ground like he just got sniped and his life ceased to be any longer.

Time for college football to tweak the rules to prevent stuff like this happening any longer because we’ve seen a few instances, including a few already this year, where players fake an injury (or even death) to slow down hurry-up offenses.
It’s a bush league tactic but until there’s clear and concise rules to stop this, then we’re going to get a few of these each week.
