Sooners head man Bob Stoops says the signal-caller is expected to play per Cliff Brunt of the Associated Press, which is great news for the team to have the Heisman candidate back under center with one win away from clinching a playoff spot.
Mayfield suffered a concussion after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from TCU’s Ty Sumers in the second quarter of the Sooners’ 30-29 win and finished the quarter. He did not return for the second half, citing a headache as the reason. He did pass all the concussion tests and Stoops said that Mayfield has practiced all week. Helping Mayfield and the Sooners cause is running backs Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon both healthy enough to play as well on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see if he plays with more caution or if he continues his aggressive approach. I’d say his aggressive approach has worked. With 3,209 passing yards, 35 touchdowns and five interceptions he has become one of the biggest names in college football.
Should he beat Oklahoma State Saturday, the legend of Baker Mayfield will continue to grow.
