Florida to sell alcohol at Gators football and basketball games
The University of Florida will begin selling alcohol at football and men’s basketball games, but where was this during the Ron Zook era?!
Fans in premium seating will be able to consume alcohol during Florida Gators football and men’s basketball games next season, the school announced on Wednesday.

SEC rules prohibit the sale of alcohol to the entire stadium but fans sitting in the O’Connell Center’s premium seating lounge areas and in the premium seating areas in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium – the Holloway Touchdown Terrace and Evans Champions Club, according to the school release.
“Providing alcohol in our premium seating areas for both football and men’s basketball was another amenity we wanted to provide to the fans in those areas,” Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley said in a statement.
The sale of beer and alcohol at college football and basketball games is becoming more commonplace with five SEC schools selling during games and at least 34 across the country that allows fans to indulge during games. Baseball and softball NCAA Championships have sold alcohol for years.
If only this was in place the last few years of the Will Muschamp era and for the Ron Zook era when the Gators weren’t the kings of the SEC, they could have racked up sales in a big way.

Fans will be able to buy alcohol until the start of the second half in football and basketball games.
