When is the Stanford football spring game?
Spring game information for David Shaw and his Stanford football team as the Cardinal look to repeat as Pac-12 champions and get into their first College Football Playoff this season.
Christian McCaffrey is back to finish what he started last year when he was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy after breaking Barry Sanders‘ record for all-purpose yards in a season. Despite McCaffrey’s excellence as a running back, receiver and return man, it wasn’t enough to get the Stanford Cardinal into the College Football Playoff.

Stanford did win the Pac-12 for the third time in the last four years with McCaffrey earning MVP honors in the 41-22 win over the USC Trojans and doubled up as the MVP of the Rose Bowl.
McCaffrey will try to top his sophomore totals and get that Heisman Trophy, but he’ll be more concerned about getting his team into the College Football Playoff with a shot to win the National Championship Game. The Cardinal have been close to the ultimate prize but it’s still eluded them, however, this could be the year for David Shaw and Stanford.
If it is going to be a championship season for Stanford, it’ll hinge on the play of the quarterback position where Stanford has a quarterback competition for the first time in four years.
Kevin Hogan is no longer on The Farm and is hoping to get a shot at an NFL career, but in his absence, Keller Chryst looks to win the job. The former five-star recruit looks the part and could be the next great Stanford quarterback but he’ll need McCaffrey and others to make things easy for him as he gains experience and confidence early in his career.

The play from Chryst and the other Stanford quarterbacks will be the biggest storyline for the Cardinal during their spring game and throughout the season, but it should produce great results.
