The Alabama recruiting class added the commitment from four-star wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

Commitments were flying Thursday, and the Alabama Crimson Tide were not left out of the party. 2017 four-star wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (Pompano Beach FL. Deerfield Beach) committed to the program. This news was first reported by Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.

Jeudy is the No. 35 player in the 2017 class, No. 6 wide receiver, and the No. 9 player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Amassing 32 offers in total, he was recruited to the Tide by Assistant Head Coach Mario Cristobal and Wide receivers Coach Billy Napier.

In regards to Alabama, they have been involved in Jeudy’s recruitment for quite a while. He first attended a school camp in July of 2014, and although he received offers in between, his interest in Alabama remained. He attended another camp on July 16, 2015, and that would be all on the Alabama front until this year.

Jeudy started off the year exploring his options as he attended the Junior Days of Clemson and Florida State as well as taking visits throughout the course of the year to Florida, Miami, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

With that in mind, he still remained loyal to Alabama, and took a visit on July 18, his final stop to Tuscaloosa before committing Thursday.

Alabama’s 2017 class continues to grow and remains one of the best in the country. Jeudy’s commitment marks No. 18 for Alabama and he is part of a class that rankings No. 2 nationally and is the best in the SEC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

He caught 41 passes for 496 yards and 10 touchdowns last season for Deerfield Beach.

The commitment of Jeudy is a big one for the Tide. They already have four-star wideout Tyrell Shavers in the class as well, and it is safe to say that there is tremendous depth at the position. Alabama has been able to develop receivers with tremendous success as of late (see Julio Jones and Amari Cooper), and this class has a great chance to continue that trend.
