Yes, I understand that Florida State just came off its second loss of the season and that might eliminate Dalvin Cook from the running for the Heisman Trophy, but as long as the Seminoles avoid loss No. 3 on the year, he’s still going to be on this list. He made it on the watch list last week after a huge performance and stays this week.

Despite his Seminoles losing to North Carolina at home, the game could have gone either way as it was decided by a last-second field goal from over 50 yards out.

Cook nor Deondre Francois were the problem for the Seminoles though. The true freshman quarterback passed for nearly 400 yards, but didn’t find the end zone through the air while Cook finished with 140 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught six passes for 106 yards with a long of 41 yards.

For the second week in a row, Cook has looked like his old self and it’s that player who contends for awards, not the Cook we saw through the first three weeks.

There may not be a better receiving running back in college football and his numbers on the season are starting to look more Cook-like. He has 635 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 5.9 yards per carry and 19 catches for 286 yards.
