Lee Corso made his College GameDay Headgear selection this morning. Did he take No. 2 Penn State at home or the 19th-ranked Michigan Wolverines?

Lee Corso is red hot with his headgear selections. The veteran game-picker and mascot-head-wearer is 5-2 on the season and has correctly picked his last three games. Dressing up as the Statue of Liberty appears to be the turning point in Corso’s season. Since his one-week hiatus from choosing an actual team, he is perfect. Last week, he correctly chose the James Madison Dukes, even though the real Duke the Bulldog wasn’t thrilled to see Corso in the Duke Dog mascot head.

This week Corso goes back to picking between the big boys of college football. College GameDay is in Happy Valley to feature the Big Ten East matchup between No. 2 Penn State and No. 19 Michigan. The Nittany Lions’ fans were ready for GameDay to come back for the first time since 2009. They had what appeared to be the most GameDay signs per capita this season.  Nearly 12 hours before their “White Out” they were already crowd surfing Lee Corso and the Nittany Lion.

Penn State and their fans have revenge on their minds. They might have won the Big Ten Championship, but the Michigan fans would not let them forget about the 49-10 beating they took at the Big House. The Nittany Lions hope to return the favor against the struggling John O’Korn-led Wolverines.

Penn State is undefeated and coming off a 31-7 throttling of the Wildcats at Northwestern. While they are famous for their Heisman-hopeful running back, Saquon Barkley, the defense is the unsung hero. They lead the country in points against at just 9.0 points per game.

Michigan’s offense has sputtered since Wilton Speight went down. Michigan was upset at home by hated-rival Michigan State because of O’Korn’s turnovers and barely squeaked by Indiana last week in overtime. Penn State beat Indiana 45-14.

Let’s go to the pick:

Penn State is 2-2 when hosting College GameDay. Corso is 2-2 in those games. He is 1-1 when picking the Nittany Lion head and 1-1 when picking the other headgear. Will this game push Corso and Penn State over .500 when in the College GameDay spotlight together?

Penn State opened as an 11.5-point favorite, but the line has fallen all the way to 7.5 points in some places. Corso only needs Penn State to win because he picks without the spread, but the aggressive line move suggests Penn State is on upset alert.
