1. College GameDay visits Stanford for Notre Dame game

Week 13 boasts some interesting matchups, but perhaps none other of the magnitude of Notre Dame at Stanford. Of course, a lot can happen for both teams between now and then- but as long as the Fighting Irish remain in the national title and College Football Playoff picture, all eyes will be on them.

The Cardinal are 5-5 all-time in games in which the popular ESPN show has made an appearance, but have not hosted one since 2011, which resulted in a 53-50 instant classic won by the Oregon Ducks. In 2012, College Gameday took part in a Stanford vs. Notre Dame matchup in South Bend, Indiana. The Irish won that game in overtime by a score of 20-13.

There are other games on the schedule in week 13 that could pose as threats to be the destination, such as Michigan-Wisconisn or Alabama-Auburn, but the fact that the Cardinal could be the spoiler to Notre Dame’s playoff run holds to much intrigue and interest to not take a venture out west.

Stanford currently trails Notre Dame in their all-time series, having just 12 wins to the Irish’s 18. Despite trailing in the series, the Cardinal have won three out of the last four matchups — usually serving as the favorite in those games. This year, the tables have turned a bit as Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush has taken the world by storm and has catapulted his time to the near top of the football rankings.

If all things stay close to what they are now, do not be surprised to see Notre Dame vs. Stanford sit as one of the biggest games of the year.
