Ohio State has been no stranger to Florida over the years and that could continue with William Putnam in the 2019 class, a four-star offensive tackle from Tampa.

Putnam is a physically-imposing 6-foot-4, 280-pound tackle with quick feet and he plays with a wide base, making him tough to break through as a defender. He’s strong and punishes defenders with pancakes left and right. He could afford to add a little weight to that big frame, but he’s what Urban Meyer looks for in an offensive lineman.

The Tampa-native holds over two dozen offers, making him one of the most highly sought-after linemen in the class and he has received a slew of scholarships from southern schools since the new year. In fact, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina and Texas A&M have all offered in the past two months.

The Buckeyes will need to bolster the offensive line with a few departing seniors after the 2018 season, so Putnam could potentially vie for a starting spot. He’s listed as the No. 102 prospect and 16th-best tackle in the class with Miami and Ohio State standing out.
