The running backs, offensive lineman and specialists took center stage on day one. Saquon Barkley solidified his status as the top tailback and Oklahoma’s Orlando Brown might have done better for himself had he not participated. There were undoubtedly winners and losers from the first day of drills, and the same is true for the Day 2 participants.

Day 2 highlighted the remainder of the skill positions and the quarterbacks. Receivers posted blazing 40-yard dashes. Quarterbacks took to the air and showcased their accuracy and arm strength. Tight ends attempted to prove they had the speed and power to play in line and standing up.

Scouts and general managers will be tasked with piecing together the slew of measurements, stopwatch reading and on-field performances and turn them into a draft grade. The inexact science varies from team to team and player to player. Speed is attractive, but it isn’t the only factor that’s considered. However, a slow time is much more concerning for a wide receiver than a quarterback.
