3. Maurice Washington
As mentioned earlier, it’s hard to overlook Maurice Washington. He’s an electric, game changing playmaker at back. He comes to Nebraska as the 10th best freshman back in the country (247Sports).
He was an Army All-American, and absolutely shined in that game, as he found the end zone three times. It’s impossible to doubt his talent. There’s a reason he held offers from schools like Ohio State, LSU, Clemson and USC. There’s also a reason he ended up at Nebraska over those schools.

Washington had some eligibility issues in high school. His academics weren’t up to par at some of his top schools, and that ultimately led to him landing at Nebraska. Had he been squared away academically, he’d likely be at Ohio State. He wasn’t, and here we are now.
This may not be an issue. Scott Frost has said that Nebraska is committed to helping Washington get eligible. However, it may not be enough. Right now, if Washington is capable of getting to Nebraska, he may still have to sit out his freshman year.
That’s why this is more of a bold prediction than a projection. If Washington can play, he’s good enough to start. If he can’t, he may never play major college football. This is a storyline worth following for any college football fans.
