2. KJ Costello throws four touchdown passes

One of the many bright spots for Stanford early in the season has been the rise of junior quarterback KJ Costello. Last season, he had to sit behind Keller Chryst and David Shaw is probably kicking himself over the fact he didn’t play the star gunslinger more.

Through two games, Costello has passed for 515 yards and five touchdowns with only one interception, completing about 64 percent of his throws.

Against a UC Davis team that allowed 21 points to San Diego and 38 points to San Jose State, the Cardinal quarterback will have himself a day. While he may not play the entire fourth quarter because of a huge lead, Costello will play his way into one of the best games of his career, passing for over 250 yards and four touchdowns.

Moreover, Costello’s impressive accuracy will continue as he’ll complete 70 percent of his throws. He’s going to have almost as many touchdown passes as he’ll have completions.
