Georgia Football battles Florida for SEC East supremacy on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville. Here are three bold predictions for the renewed rivalry.

The biggest game on college football’s week 9 slate is the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (it will always be called this to me) in Jacksonville pitting two top 10 teams against one another in a battle for supremacy in the SEC East.

Both teams enter at 6-1 overall and 4-1 in SEC play, but not every record is created equal.

For Georgia, 6-1 is a disappointment for a team that had aspirations for a perfect season and a return trip to the College Football Playoff. It’s too early to write the obit for Georgia’s playoff hopes, but the Bulldogs’ margin-for-error was vanquished two weeks ago in Baton Rouge.

For Florida, 6-1 feels like a dream coming off of a 4-7 season in 2017. No one expected Dan Mullen would right the ship so quickly in Gainesville, but he has the Gators in contention in the SEC East already in year one.

The winner of this game will sit in the driver’s seat of the SEC East, and take a step toward a New Year’s Six bowl in the process, although the Wildcats from Kentucky will certainly have something to say about that, with a win over Florida already in the wagon and the Bulldogs heading to Lexington next week.

For now, however, all eyes are in Jacksonville for Saturday’s showdown between the Gators and the Bulldogs.

Here are three bold predictions as their rivalry renews.
