2. Bryce Love’s forgettable year is finally over

Limping to the regular season’s finish line, Bryce Love can finally rest easy knowing that his forgettable senior year with the Cardinal is finally over.

Deciding to return for one more season with unfinished business as the driving force, Love probably didn’t think he would fall short of all expectations and just crawl past the 700-yard mark before bowl season. Will he play in a bowl? Possibly, but he could shift into NFL draft gear, and no one would blame him.

All scouts know the name “Bryce Love” after the incredible season he had in 2017, but he didn’t quite help his stock by returning.

How far has he fallen? After rushing for over 2,100 yards last season on 8.1 yards per touch, he’s cut his yards per carry to 4.7 and has just over 700 with a season-ending 74-yard performance against Cal on 22 carries. He’s also crossed the goal-line just six times this year compared to 19 last season.

It’s been one of those years he wishes he would have had back, but it’ll be a learning experience and he’ll have a whole offseason to get healthy and get his confidence back for the NFL.
