Thaddeus Moss has been one of the more underrated transfer performers in the SEC this season, playing tight end for the Tigers. He may not be a star, but he’s put up some big numbers.

For a tight end, anything more than 300 yards on 20-30 catches is impressive, but Moss has far exceeded that as he’s picked up 435 yards and a touchdown on 38 receptions. It’s even more impressive when you consider the elite wide outs the Tigers have on the roster stealing targets from him.

But even Moss needs some help at the position. That’s where Arik Gilbert comes in to play.

Backup tight end Stephen Sullivan is graduating and third-stringer Tory Carter didn’t have a major impact in the passing game this season. So why not lean on the Gatorade National Player of the Year for 2019? That would be Gilbert.

It’s not often you see a tight end so highly regarded, but Gilbert is an intriguing prospect. He’s a five-star and ranked No. 1 at the position with a unique blend of size and athleticism at 6-5 and 250 pounds. He can split out and run routes like a receiver or go down in a three-point stance and catch passes in traffic over the middle. This kid is good.

I think we’ll see plenty of the No. 9 recruit in the nation in 2020.
