Jamari Stewart recently named a top two of Arizona and Mississippi State and that’s huge for the Bulldogs considering they just entered the race for him this week — officially.

Mike Leach and his staff offered him a scholarship on Monday and he’s already planning an official visit to check out the new staff and see if he fits with the new 3-3-5 defensive scheme that Zach Arnett runs. He is more of a hybrid type of player so he’s not limited to just defensive end as he can also stand up and play outside linebacker. He could be a perfect fit for the new system.

Stewart stands 6-foot-3 and weighs just over 200 pounds so if he’s going to play end, he’ll need to add some weight. Even if he’s a linebacker, he’s about 20-25 pounds too light.

However, he has plenty of athleticism and if he’s an end, he has plenty of pass-rushing ability and the same goes for him as a linebacker — he could be a blitz specialist.

Stewart is ranked the No. 800 player in the class and the 39th-best weak-side defensive end, per 247Sports.
