The 2011 Oklahoma State Cowboys are one of the more under-appreciated teams in college football history.

Oklahoma State put together a 13-1 season that included a 12-point victory over No. 22 Texas, a 44-10, a 52-45 victory over No. 17 Kansas State, a blowout win over No. 10 Oklahoma, a Big 12 championship and an overtime win over Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.

The roster included several eventual first round draft picks in quarterback Brandon Weeden who threw for 4,727 yards and 37 touchdowns, wide receiver Justin Blackmon who won the Biletnikoff Award after hauling in 122 passes for 1,522 yards and 18 touchdowns and defensive back Justin Gilbert who grabbed five interceptions.

The Cowboys finished the season ranked third in the final AP and Coaches polls and only missed out on the BCS title game because of a crushing double-overtime road defeat to an unranked Iowa State team.

If the Cowboys had won that game, they might have been national champions in 2011.
