819. . . . Notre Dame (2012). 9. player

While the 2012 Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s 12 wins in 2012 have since been vacated, they still had some of the best talents of any roster not to win it all.

The Irish went 12-1 in 2012 with wins over No. 10 Michigan State, No. 18 Michigan, No. 17 Stanford and No. 8 Oklahoma.

Notre Dame was loaded with eventual NFL talent in running back Theo Riddick, tight end Tyler Eifert, offensive lineman Zack Martin and linebacker Manti Te’o.

Notre Dame had to win one last game to take home a national championship, but they were beat down in the BCS National Championship game against Alabama in a 42-14 drumming.
