With Kadarius Toney gone and the clear lack of depth at receiver hitting Florida hard in the Cotton Bowl, getting a guy like Destyn Hill is imperative.

Currently, the Gators have commitments from Marcus Burke and Daejon Reynolds who are both ranked in the top 300 nationally as four-stars. While they could both have immediate impacts, Hill is the kind of receiver who could come in right away and insert himself into that receiver rotation.

Hill is ranked the No. 113 prospect in the country and he’s also the 19th-best receiver, according to the composite. He’s 6-foot-0 and 200 pounds which doesn’t scream go-to receiver, but he’s talented enough to be that No. 1 target for the Gators somewhere down the line.

The four-star receiver has plenty of speed and route-running ability which would make him the perfect replacement for Toney.

Whoever the next starting quarterback is will need to develop new favorite targets and Hill would complement guys like Jacob Copeland, Xzavier Henderson and Justin Shorter nicely.

Florida, however, will have to fight off Florida State for his services as the Seminoles are the current favorites to land him.
