Florida Football: Top 4 early recruiting targets in 2022 class
Florida has been known for developing some of the best defensive backs in the country and that seems to have piqued the interest of five-star safety Kamari Wilson from Fort Pierce, Fla.
And wouldn’t you know it, Wilson is one of those talented recruits who has decided to take his talents to the famed IMG Academy in Bradenton. The Gators will likely be on him until the day he commits because of the need for defensive backs after a horrendous defensive showing in 2020 and he could be a guy who comes in and starts from day one.
Winning him over won’t be easy. Luckily Wilson grew up in Florida so he’s familiar with the Gators, but Alabama, LSU and Miami are going to make this recruitment difficult. Even South Carolina is making an effort here and he holds over 30 offers.
If Florida wants to reel in the No. 20 overall recruit and second-best safety in the 2022 class, it will need to prove that he’s a top priority and treat him like the next star of the secondary. Let him know that he will have a spot in that two-deep immediately.
The talent is there for him to have an immediate impact.
