Everyone loves a good Florida vs. Tennessee game, but the Volunteers haven’t been good in years and the matchup is much better when both teams are fighting for position in the SEC East.

Don’t expect that to change this season.

Jeremy Pruitt was fired after the season and the Volunteers hired UCF head coach Jeff Heupel who went 28-8 in three years with the Knights. While this hire came with mixed reviews, he is recruiting at a decently high level but that’s not going to help right away in 2021.

The Volunteers lost a ton of starters this past offseason to the portal and they’re going to basically be a young group of first-year starters with very little experience, trying to keep up in the SEC. Things might just get uglier in Knoxville before they get better.

Tennessee only lost by 12 to Florida last season, but that was at Neyland Stadium. This time around, the Gators are hosting the Volunteers.

Yeah, this won’t be close.
