With the quarterback situation still up in the air for Toledo, it’s fair to say that the Rockets don’t stand much of a chance here. Sophomore Carter Bradley passed for just under 900 yards and nine touchdowns last season, but the Rockets’ offense may not quite be as explosive as it’s been in years past.

Defensively, the Rockets ranked 36th in total yards and scoring last season and they return 10 starters, so there’s a chance that this could keep them in the game.

But Notre Dame’s offense will be better than anything the Rockets have seen in a couple of years so I would not be shocked to see the Irish put up some big points. Toledo gave up over 40 points just once last season and they’ll give up that amount in the first game of 2021.

I’m buying stock in Tyler Buchner, if you haven’t been able to tell and I think he’ll have a solid game here with two touchdown passes and Kyren Williams will rush for 100 again and another two scores.

Final Score: Toledo 20, Notre Dame 42 (2-0)
