2. Transfer portal should upgrade the roster

Talent was never truly an issue for Florida this season as Dan Mullen was a solid recruiter for the Gators, but it should even see an uptick in the coming offseason as Billy Napier hits the portal hard.

Mel Tucker at Michigan State showed last offseason just how much the transfer portal can be utilized in order to help build a roster. He hit the portal and turned a 2-5 team into a 10-2 squad headed to a New Year’s Six bowl this year. And he was dealing with far less talent than Napier is inheriting this offseason.

Napier already added a couple of transfers since taking over as head coach in Ohio State quarterback Jack Miller and Auburn defensive lineman Tyron Truesdell.

And that’s just the beginning.

The portal is going to help build the Florida roster back and better than before, especially with such a small recruiting class currently (nine signees after early signing day).

Get excited, Florida fans, the portal is going to provide some proven talent for the 2022 season.
