Florida Football: 3 potential early 2022 transfer portal targets
If I’m Billy Napier, I’m hitting the transfer portal in search of some elite wide receiver talent and Frank Ladson could be just that. He’s one of the more talented receivers on the market and when he committed to Clemson in the 2019 class, some believed he would be a future first-round receiver.
Ladson didn’t exactly live up to his potential at Clemson and a lot of that has to do with the quarterback position being underwhelming in 2021 when he finally got an opportunity.
In 2020, however, he did have a career-best 18 catches for 281 yards and three scores. He’s a deep threat and should be considered by the Gators because they need more of those heading into the 2022 season. The offense was underwhelming in 2021 and a lot of that had to do with the quarterback shortcomings so maybe adding another elite receiver will change that.
The Gators already lost Jacob Copeland to the transfer portal and tight end Kemore Gamble is a senior. They could use a big 6-3 target with speed like Ladson who could take over as the No. 1 target in 2022.
